DoubleStar Helps a Super-Regional Bank Open a New Operations Center on Time and under Budget

Client Challenge

An expanding commercial bank needed to aggressively staff and launch a new Processing Operation Center, which required that 130 key positions be filled in 100 days.

The Bank reviewed its options for solving this challenge. It considered using its internal recruiting team, but it was already overburdened with openings. Agencies—even those offering discounts—would be too expensive. The Bank even looked at using contract recruiters but decided that the management of a team of independent recruiters would be challenging given the time frames and the level of hiring required.

In the end, the Bank selected DoubleStar to provide a customized, end-to-end, fully managed recruitment solution to meet this unusual need.

Our Solution

First, DoubleStar developed a Project Plan to provide direction and governance for the project execution. Then we assigned an experienced team of recruiters trained in high-volume recruiting techniques to find, qualify and assist the client in selecting and hiring candidates as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality of hire.

The key to this effort was a carefully crafted sourcing plan that included multiple sourcing channels and a rapid pre-qualification process. Another key element was forging a close relationship between the DoubleStar team and the client’s HR Business Partners to ensure all recruiting activities were aligned with the client’s practices.

As a result, DoubleStar successfully filled all 130 positions within 100 days and at a cost-per-hire of $970.

The Processing Operations Center was launched ahead of schedule – it was up and running with an experienced staff in only three months! And, the effort achieved the lowest cost-per-hire for any recruiting project undertaken to date by the Bank.
